1:1 Tesla-owner FSD coaching (supervised)
$150 / 60 min · $250 / 90 min · virtual
I’m Jon Herrity. I film Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on Chicago-area roads, I have been an FSD Early Access tester since 2021, and I will sit with you on a call, look at your car, and walk the settings Tesla actually ships — not a secret menu, not a jailbreak, not a “hands-off” pitch.
If you just took delivery, swapped from HW3 to HW4 (or the other way around), or you keep second-guessing every prompt, this is the session.
Who this is for
- New owners who turned FSD (Supervised) on once, got a warning, and went back to driving it themselves.
- HW3 vs HW4 confusion. You bought a used car, you are waiting on a new one, or YouTube comments convinced you your computer is “dead.” We check what is actually in your vehicle and what Tesla’s public software track is doing right now.
- Settings. Speed Profile, Arrival Options, Start from Park, Brake Confirm, HOV, visualization. What they do. What they do not do.
- Supervised-use habits. Eyes on the road, cabin camera, when to take over, how strikeouts work, how not to get FSD suspended for a week because you were looking at your phone.
- Chicago / Midwest driving. Tollways, suburban arterials, unmarked neighborhood streets, winter cameras, salt spray, construction season. I drive this stuff. I am not going to pretend Phoenix weather is your commute.
This is owner education. You stay the driver. Tesla’s own owner’s manual is the source of truth for what the car is allowed to do.
What is not included
I will say this once, in plain English:
- No repairs, diagnostics, or Service appointments. I am not Tesla Service. If a camera is failed, a computer is throwing a thermal alert, or a panel is rattling, that is a service ticket — not a coaching call.
- No jailbreak, sideload, spoof, or “disable nags” hardware. Devices that fake occupancy or attentiveness violate Tesla’s terms and can get FSD permanently disabled. I will not help you do that.
- No hands-off, no sleeping, no “it’s basically unsupervised.” The product name is Full Self-Driving (Supervised). You remain attentive and ready to take over. If you want a session that teaches you to ignore the cabin camera, do not book.
- No unreleased software, no leaked builds, no “what’s coming next quarter.” I talk about what is on public release notes and what is on cars I can legally drive and film. I do not have Tesla insider access. I do not pretend I do.
- No “I work at Tesla so I know secrets.” I don’t. Tesla is the cars I own and the channel I run. My day job is regional sales for an electrical-components manufacturer — unrelated, and not for sale as consulting.
- No factory, robot, or industrial-automation consulting. Different job. Different inbox. Do not book this call for that.
How a session runs
Before the call (10 minutes of your time)
- Confirm the car is charged enough to sit in Park with the screen on.
- Screenshot Controls → Software → Additional Vehicle Information (Autopilot / AI computer line) and the current software version.
- Note your model, year, and whether FSD is purchased or a subscription.
- Write three things that annoy you: phantom braking, late lane changes, parking, nags, HW3 vs HW4 anxiety — whatever it actually is.
60-minute session ($150)
- Who you are, what the car is (5 min). HW3 or HW4, software build, how long you have had FSD.
- Enable and start, the documented way (10 min). Park, Controls → Self-Driving → Full Self-Driving (Supervised), headlights Auto/On, cameras clear. Right scroll button vs Start Self-Driving on the screen. Brake Confirm. What blocks Start from Park (unbuckled, door open, charge cable, cabin camera blocked).
- Speed Profile and Arrival Options (15 min). Sloth / Chill / Standard / Hurry / Mad Max — what Tesla says they change (speed + lane-change frequency), not what a comment section claims. Arrival: Park vs Pull Over; Parking Lot / Street / Driveway / Parking Garage / Curbside if your build has them. We pick defaults that match your commute, not mine.
- Supervised habits (15 min). Cabin camera green indicator. Escalating attention warnings. Five strikeouts = a week without Autosteer / FSD. A strikeout can age off after 3.5 days if you do not earn another. Handheld devices. When to cancel (brake, right scroll, steering). Practice a disengage in a parking lot before you do it at 70 mph on I-90.
- Your three problems (15 min). We spend the rest of the hour on the actual issues you wrote down. I will tell you when the answer is “take over,” when it is “clean the camera,” and when it is “that is just this build on your hardware.”
90-minute session ($250)
Everything above, plus a longer walkthrough of a route you actually drive (you share screen / cabin view; I do not remote-control the car), HW3 vs HW4 expectation-setting for a purchase decision you are already making, and a written settings snapshot you can keep. Still virtual. Still supervised. Still not a ride-along unless we separately agree to one in the Chicago northwest suburbs — that is not in the base price.
After
You get a short recap: the settings we changed, the three habits to keep, and what I told you to ignore. No recording of your cabin unless you ask for it. No Tesla accounts of mine. No “I’ll push a build to you.”
